Every full moon is a public holiday in Sri Lanka, and some goods may not be sold that day. ARC OS knows the Poya days and helps the till keep to the rules without anyone checking a calendar.
Stop the items that are not sold
- Open Products, Setup, and choose the category, for example Liquor or Meat.
- Turn on Not sold on Poya days and save. Categories inside it follow the same rule.
- On a Poya day, the till refuses those items with a short message, and the server refuses them too, so another till or an old window cannot sell them.
A sale rung up while the till was offline is kept as it was rung, so the money and the stock stay right. Check the Poya day's sales the next morning if a till was offline.
Your opening hours
Set the shop's opening hours in Settings, Trading hours and shifts. A sale outside them raises an alert in Monitoring, which helps on days the shop opens late or closes early.
Reading the reports
Sales on a Poya day can look very different from a normal day. Every time chart in Reports draws a thin line on Poya days and public holidays and shades festival seasons, so a quiet day does not look like a problem. The calendar can be switched off on a chart with its Calendar switch.
The 30-day forecast counts Poya days and holidays from the same calendar when it works out what you are likely to take and when stock may run out.
